So I just got home from picking this Lil guy up at the local hobby shop. I paid $60CA and its the first one I've had. In the past I've had 2 different shitty indoor helicopters but its been a few years. I initially went in looking for a bigger outdoor helicopter that would be more than a beginners level but decided to just mess around on a small one to see if its something I'd actually spend a lot of timg trying to learn on something bigger and about $350, plus its still cold outside. Anyways if I get anything cool on camera I'll be sure to add some pics or vids.

A guy at work has that exact one, it's not bad for a beginner one. You will like it. I have an AR Drone 2.0 with some mods, and love it. Wasn't impressed with it stock though.

The AR Drone 2.0 I wouldn't personally buy one, but this was given to me from Dell so I', not going to turn it down. I have it hooked up to a laptop and using AutoFlight and use an XBox 360 controller to fly it. I will be building my own here soon, probably between 250 mm and 400 mm.

Tricky little thing. It has about 10 minutes of run time and I spend too much of that adjusting the fucker once its up lol. Its pretty fun....This is more of what I went in looking for but decided to wait it out for now.

Can anybody recommend a truck? From what little I've read this truck sounds good. Its about $500CA I think for the ready to use kit.

Just flew the micro into Sister in-laws hair.....one prop can't keep up and it doesn't want to fly. I pulled all the visible hair out but the one corner is struggling.

I normally flatten out a paper clip and put the prop on it and see which side is lighter. I then steal some of my wife's nail polish and add some to the under side until it balances and then do the same for the rest.

Lol ya man. I had to spend quite a while getting the sisters hair out but it is still ready for flight. Is it just a matter of me making a YouTube account or sething in order to post vids? Can photobucket or imgur upload vids?

That is cool as hell. There's a lake behind my house...I may get one of these, lol.

Just a cheap piece of shit to play around with because - at my core - I'm just a 43 year old child. Flew it around the house for a little bit. Once I got comfortable with the controls I was able to hover it in front of the wife and annoy the shit out of her while she watched TV. After that fun wore off I took it outside at night. It was a little windy which increased the difficulty, but I was still able to fly it around the backyard. It had orange and green flashing lights which greatly increased the coolness factor. I decided to see how high it would go before it lost contact with my controller, figuring I would regain control once it reached it's proximity limit.

The answer : Pretty fucking high.

My control cut out and it fell like a kite without a string. It landed in my neighbor's huge fucking oak tree about 100' off the ground.

So much for that.
