OK, this may be a FRAT and may be a bit of rambling but for some reason I just feel I need to tell people about my experience yesterday morning.

A little bit of a back story. This year has been a little bit of a tough year for me, I've kept my chin up and kept pushing forward because the rut will end, and what else am I going to do, just give up? No, not an option, Over the past 6 months I have gotten divorced, lost my grandfather to an incredibly ugly bout of cancer (We were VERY close), having to scrape by because I refuse to lose my house, lost my moderator spot on TMMAC (haha joking just trying to bring some humor), and this past week was the 8 year anniversary of losing my best friend right in front of me while I tried to save him.

Well on Sunday morning my 2 precious dogs who I love to death decided they wanted to eat at 6:30 am, not unusual during the week, but on the weekend we tend to sleep in and have puppy cuddle sessions, because who doesn't love that. So I get up to feed them, and after go and check my emails in my office. While in there I notice I left my blue mason jar on my desk (I have a blue one and a green one, I'm sure you can figure out what each one is for). So i said, hmm maybe I'll have those beautiful mushrooms for breakfast, why the fuck not right?

About 30 min go by and I'm starting to get the tingle, 45 min go by and my body is warm and I can "feel" everything. I go and get back in bed and start to play with my dogs. After a few min I just feel, what I can only describe as one of the most beautiful feelings I have ever experienced in my entire life. This feeling lasted for the duration of my adventure and carried on through out the day. It was such a feeling of intense love, Stillmatic @Stillmatic said the universe was hugging me. The only way I could describe it was, in my mind, the love a new born child must feel when its mother holds it for the first time. Just unconditional love. It was amazing. It was beautiful. It made me feel good about myself and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and things will get better. As I'm typing this I have tears forming in my eyes because of just how fucking beautiful it all was. I don't know how else to describe it, I have never felt anything quite like it.

So that's my little tid bit I wanted to share. Thanks to this community, most of you don't suck!

Ya know, I've felt euphoria before. Whether after a crazy workout, or returning home from Iraq, to being stoned. This was just different, it felt different.

just natural stuff for me, nothing hard, nothing processed.

It really was a beautiful thing. Today I feel refreshed and my mood hasnt been this good in a long time. As far as psychedelics go, they are doing studies that are showing things like mushrooms and mdma really do help with PTSD. I know mine still affects me to this day, not nearly as bad as it used to be, but i can say it certainly helps.

This is gorgeous. Glad you feel renewed and secure that you'll get through this time and be alright. Condolences to you for the loss of your grandfather.

That's pretty amazing. Almost makes me consider going to the secret squirrel Ayahuasca retreat I was offered a chance at going to. I've been learning more about psychedelics, the spectrum of experiences and have listened to some conversations recently with some considered the modern day pioneers of it all, fascinating stuff really.

It's amazing how I feel after a good trip. I didn't even eat a lot, maybe like 2 grams. I really want to take a heroic dose and see where it takes me. I've eatten 3-4 grams before though, but that's been awhile.

Legit choked up now. Very moving, deeply inspiring and happily in line with what I've heard from other people whose lives have wildly altered for the better after a profound experience like yours. Hope this heralds awesomeness for you and peace on your grandpa.

They are amazing. You will feel better about life after a session of any mushroom psychedelic, the synthetic ones last too long I think. I've never done ayahuasca so won't comment; but if someone offers you mushrooms jump at the chance. They grow wild here every October I can't wait.

Not a drug man myself so I can't begin to relate on any level, but i do know one thing. And that is - I am really happy for you dude. Seriously. Whatever that was, doesn't matter. It's the fact that you experienced it and it apparently was amazing. Very cool man.

Ahhh go on have a go... All you need to do is ask an early twenties dude with a metallica shirt and have positive attitude. Wait that sounds wrong...

I've gotta say that every mushroom enthusiast I've ever met has been fantastic and open conversation, super positive and funny and...I dunno, willing to both comment on and embrace life's absurdity. At parties I'd always avoid talking to Coke People and look for Mushroom People. They were usually by the speakers.
