We are living in a great time when programming content has become so fragmented and diverse that it is nearing becoming a complete meritocracy. Things actually succeed and fail now on their own merit, according to what people actually want. There isn't a handful of controlling groups that decide what people can choose from, which then artificially inflates the popularity of something as it is shoved down people's throats. They are still trying, but they are slowly figuring out that nobody wants to see Obama or Markle, just because the media had been selling us that they are popular and interesting nobody is buying it.
