I don't sell guns, so I guess it's going to just live out the rest of my life buried in the back of my safe.

Neither would buying another gun.
Sig has been almost exclusively a marketing company over the past couple decades. They have had problem after problem with most of their newer releases. I think they eventually corrected most of the issues with the P365. It's been my EDC, almost exclusively, for the past few years. I know even it had problems when it was first launched.
They have been relying on past glory and fanboys for a while, now.
I didn't know the 365 had problems, then again my state doesn't get anything upon release, we get all products years later.
They are pushing hard to escape liability. Deputy Cole was killed by a junkie several years back here. His son is a deputy with the same department. He was responding to a DV incident as a back up and his gun discharged hitting him. He sued sig. The lawyers from sig that came to Maine to fight this was insane. I don't think it has settled yet.

Stores around here don't do trade-ins per se, but they will give a lowball cash offer, or do consignment and take a 25% fee. I made a few calls late this afternoon to find out the details since I've never been in this position before. 25% fee, or shoot myself...the fee is absurd but doesn't seem so bad based upon variables.
Your local gun shop won't do trade ins? Just throw it in the back of the safe and gift it to a brother in law you don't like.

They'll think I'm turning a new leaf until they realize at Thanksgiving and Christmas I'm still not showing up.
I got rid of two guns earlier this year. Probably took a bath but I didn't have any use for them. I honestly would have taken less. Just expensive paperweights sitting there. Felt good to unload em. Don't miss em.
I will say this. I don't know if it's a sentimental thing, but I can understand that. I bought a motorcycle to replace an older one and when it came time to sell the older one I couldn't do it. Now it sits. I keep it fresh by riding it every now and then.
I live in a state that wants to outright ban guns. Every year they move closer and closer to doing so. As a general rule ever since purchasing my first firearm, I've vowed to never sell or get rid of any guns in my lifetime.
I also just really like guns, but not ones that may go boom when I don't want to pew pew.
