fan.

I may not actually like all his sideshow hoopla, or maybe I do, but what I realized today is I actually miss watching that guy fight. Sure I'll probably pull against him next time but regardless I'm 100% ready for a McGregor fight.

No matter whether you love him, hate him, or are in love with him (like me), no one can deny that he generates a lot of buzz and makes things a lot more exciting.

I really want to see him Vs Ferg or Khabib. I want to see the guy tested. So far we saw him tested against Nate twice and he almost wilted both times. We know he couldn't hang the first time and the second was looking a lot like the first at one point.

Personally I don't think Conor can hang with guys who will take him in deep water. If he can't control you I feel he will lose.

Exactly. He has that must see vibe. Which few fighters ever have carried. Fedor, Silva, Chuck, Jones, GSP would be the short list but Conor has taken what they did to new heights. Whether you watch to see him win or watch hoping he will lose you're going to watch.

I agree, sort of. He needs a foil for it to work.
Not really. Eddie didn't give him much and that fight still sold more PPV's than either of his two fights against Nate.

People tune in to see Conor, and his popularity grows after every fight, regardless of the opponent.

Edit- I read the source wrong. Ufc 205 was bigger than 196, but 202 (rematch against Nate) is still the all-time high. I'd chalk that up to rematches historically selling better.

I still think Conor's opponent makes little to no difference at this point.

Yeah you're right all the extra viewers were tuning in for Tyron fucking Woodley and some Polish chicks they've never heard of. Smh...
Was it the loan reason? No. Was it a factor? Absolutely.

Here's the reality. Lesnar sold 1.6 million 100 events ago. Conor "The Biggest Draw in the History of the World" McGregor sold...the same amount. Until they amended the numbers to eek him past Brock's record by a nose. Brock did it without consistently fighting on stacked cards or against fan favorites. Hell, Lesnar sold a million on UFC 200 and that card was dog shit.

People tune in to see Brock. They tune in to see Conor when they think he'll lose and there are other potential quality fights on the card.

I was impressed with the way he handled Eddie... I thought for sure Eddie would grind him and dismantle him but the first shot he ate, I saw it in his eyes that the match was all over and Conor had it in the bag.

Broke Eddie with 1 punch....
