I'd like to have a go at this but I don't follow competitive BJJ/grappling really.

The only one I can think of is Roger Gracie returning to BJJ as a Masters 2 athlete after 5 years and submitting the 10 time adult world champion, Buchecha, like he was a blue belt. That would cover categories 6), 8), and 9).

Was Shoeface submitting Garry Tonon 2017? Gordon Ryan getting in and out of that armbar was pretty crazy. I think I posted the video for someone in one of the fight discussion threads but I don't remember which one.

Breakout star of the year has to be Craig Jones right?

Sub of the year: Antono carlos jr hitting a flying triangle on Gary Tonon was pretty slick

Upset of the year: Craig Jones taking Leandro Lo out in the first round at adcc
