Robbie Hart @Robbie Hart

Rafael Devers has been traded to the Giants.

For (2) prospects and a pair of pitchers with ERA's of 4.56 and 6.47 - one of which is on the DL.

Boston is 6.5 games out and have won 5 in a row. Their last 3 series:
  • Yankees - Red Sox won 2 of 3
  • Rays - Red Sox won 2 of 3
  • Yankees - Red Sox swept the 3-game series

Odd timing for a salary dump.

In his last AB for Boston he hit a dinger.

Just hit a fucking bomb
He hit another one yesterday.
That makes 4 games in a row - 16 on the year.
Average is "up" to .273
20 SB

Still strikes out way too much and has too many errors, but the positives far outweigh the nagatives.

I know
They apparently stopped the bus before it got to the airport and put him in a cab and returned him to Fenway.

Stupid way to treat the guy who you planned on building around.
I’m not sure I can stand behind them anymore. They are oissing me off. They don’t need a salary dump. They want to compete, right? The way salaries are going up , they just didn’t respect him. He’s not a first baseman and can’t just switch around like a utility player like they want but they continues to press him. No means no

I'm thinking ownership didn't take too kindly to a dude they committed $300 million to telling them to kick rocks multiple times.

1st it was the hissy fit about getting bumped to DH. Then the whole 1st base thing.

I'll say ownership didn't treat him all that well. It sounds like he was blindsided by a lot of this. Shitty thing to do to a guy who has been with you for 9 years.

And fuck Boston for making the Giants better.

The Red Sux treat their stars like shit all of the time. Nomar, Manny, Donatello, the list goes on and on.

And he won't play 3rd for San Fran either. They already have a better 3rd baseman. Their plan is to DH him in the NL, LOL.

Right when I think they are turning things around, they go ahead and fuck themselves again!

They cheated.
There were some shit calls but they were equally distributed.

Chisholm lost his shit and got ejected in the 8th. Was pretty funny. He was big mad.

I thought the Reds were fucked when Judge was up with the bases juiced in the 10th.

Anecdotal observation with my interactions with Yankee fans:
1 - The fans from NY liked our stadium, especially the prices and chill atmosphere. They universally hate Aaron Boone.
2 - The Yankees fans who are from around the Cincy area don't know shit about baseball. Embarrassing. I'm glad they aren't Reds fans.

Spencer Steer hit 3 bombs last night in the Reds 8-1 win.

But the story of the night was Nick Martinez taking a no-no into the 9th.

On his 112th pitch of the night he gave up a shot to left-center and little-used Ryan Villade, who was subbed into the game in T8, made an absolute shit effort on the ball. In that situation - T9 with a no-hitter and an 8 run lead - you need to be running through brick walls to catch any ball hit your way. I don't know if he would have caught it - but that effort was fucking garbage.

RIP to Dave Parker.
He's been struggling with Parkinson's for years.

He's being inducted into the HOF next month.
He played his high school ball here in Cincinnati - and although he's known as a Pirate - he had 4 solid seasons in Cincinnati in the mid-80s.

In that clip you can see Pete Rose playing 1st base for the Phillies. That marked the 5th position he played in All Star games.
