This isn't anything super interesting...We just got back from camping for a few days and when catching up on FB this appeared in my feed. I thought Alex fought MW/LHW but now the UFC wants him at HW? Payback for being a PR nightmare?

@lueVelvet You misunderstood, basically Nicholson was cut from the UFC but if he wins his next fight at HW (for the Island Fights org) they will give him a fight at HW. He has a KO win over Chase Sherman and it was pretty damn nasty, especially as he had to survive quite a long time on his back. It's on youtube.

I got that much but it sounds like it stemmed from the UFC is all I meant. I don't think he would take a HW fight anywhere if he didn't have a choice but let's see what happens.

He hates the weight cut and never felt he was able to perform, so he was moving back to HW to see if he could get himself back in the mix. Both him and Mike Perry have fought for Island Fights before down in Florida and they must have a good relationship with the promoter (and/or Roy Jones jr)

I'm a bit surprised he's gone straight from MW back to HW and perhaps that was more about the available opponent, but his comment suggests he'd prefer to be at HW. I certainly don't think he'd do much better at LHW than he did at MW.

At least he knows that he doesn't like to cut weight. Would he be considered a "small" HW though? Stipe is 6' 4" so he should have no real issues jumping a couple weight classes if he can put on mass healthily
