I always wondered what kind of mental gymnastics are necessary for a guy like DeNiro to be attached to films like Goodfellas, Casino, The Good Shepherd and be the sopping wet vagina of a man that he is. Does he imagine that he's like his characters? Is he drawn to personalities that he doesn't like or empathize with? Or are his "public" antics the mandatory going through the motions required of his job and he hates his existence as much as your standard issue office worker?
