Not sure if this is funny or tragic or both. The level of simplicity required to even consider saying these things in public is remarkable. The man is completely paranoid, beyond stupid and a flat out liar.

His bullshit arsenal ranges from batshit crazy to sheer stupidity to psychotic. "Attacks from the media" about the fire crisis in the Amazon haven't by any means "aroused a patriotic sentiment” in Brazil as this is one of the rare topics where people universally agree and his approval rate is dropping dramatically as the crisis unfolds - the latest public opinion polls were just reported last night on national TV.

Other countries questioning his stand on the crisis are much less of a question to Brazil's sovereignty than his attitude towards Trump and his blind obedience to international market mantaining Brazil's status as a mere exporter of commodities. Brazil is the rich country's backyard farm - they snatch soy and corn and oil whenever they need and keep Brazil from truly growing in other areas that can sustain substantial development - a historical trend that is embodied in Bolsonaro more than anyone else.

Brazil has never been on “the brink of socialism” much less during PT's rule. Brazil is and has always been a capitalist wonderland where economic interests rage unruled and control everything from the Central Bank's monetary policy to the media. There isn't one single mainstream political actor that is even close to a socialist and there hasn't been one for roughly 70 years.

According to the court of law that investigated the subject Bolsonaro wasn't stabbed by a "left wing militant" like he says. He never appealed the decision in court then goes in front of the whole world and says otherwise with nothing to back up his bold face lie.

This is just from a few parts that I saw. I can't listen to his retard sounding monotone broken speech for more than a couple minutes at a time.

there's no different between crony capitalism and crony socialism.

it's just that socialism lends itself more readily to crony-ism. Lula and his kind are opportunists, you don't get to paint an entire economic ideology with that brush unless you accept that they were always more socialist than they were capitalist.

My guess is that he's a populist right wing panderer, like Trump, Boris and Duterte.

It's more than a little inaccurate to insinuate that's what I wrote.
Why would you feel the need to include the word if that wasn't your intention?

The election we're in the middle of is fucking panderfest.

Trump gets too much credit - every 'Trumpian' leader gets labeled with that term, but Trump was not even close to the OG (O G - forgot that would autocorrect) Trump himself. Putting aside historical leaders with certain similarities, you could just look at Silvio Berlusconi in terms of personality or Shinzo Abe who Steven Bannon called 'Trump before Trump'. Every country has a Trump and most have had them long before he was in politics.

Look at this f aggot for example - Trump didn't even pioneer the spastic blonde hair look that Boris Johnson rocks as well.

The unique look is actually pretty crucial. While lots of people vote for these cunts because they're racist pieces of shit, others are just complete apolitical retards who vote for a shiny object they recognize. Our pre-Trump looks like Ronald McDonald, for example, and that helped her build a profile. Mockery is still attention.

He was elected by ~55 million voters so there are a lot of people who still hang on to the crazy notion that a man who never worked or ran a small time business in his life, never studied past high school, never did anything of note whether in the army or politics is somehow able to run a country. But his disapproval rate in public opinion polls has constantly been the highest ever for a president at each time period. So he is burning political capital fast. A just elected president should've been able to ride on victory and at least apply a 100 days agenda sucessfully.

The main things that most people don´t like about his government is that he and his family are neck-deep in corruption and ties with the Rio militias and they are directly or indirectly linked to the people suspected of murdering congresswoman Marielle Franco in 2018; that he campaigned on promising to put an end to corruption but has since cut Justice's Minister and simple man's cult hero Sergio Moro's wings; that he constantly challenges democratic institutions and implies he will or can shut the parliament/shut the Supreme Court; that he caters to foreign interest while pretending to be a hardcore patriotic; that he campaigned on ultra-conservative ideology but 30kg of cocaine were found in his entourage's plane in Spain.

My major complaints personally are that he is a bum who never worked a day in his life and is a simple minded populist who's used as a pawn in a bigger plot to desconstruct the 1988 Constitution and turn Brazil into a neoliberal state straight from the 1980's.

Socialism implies expropriation of the means of production. People would get laughed out of politics if they defended that in any democratic capitalist country in the last 50 years. So there aren't any socialists in the western political world. Maybe people think social-democracy is a synonym to socialism? I still go by the actual meaning of words and concepts so I'm often confused as to what people refer to as "socialism".

Lula has never been a socialist or anything close to it. He started as a youth supporting then-future president FHC who was a social democrat in the 1960/1970's before he and his party turned into a reactionary-conservative household. Lula came up in the 1970's as an union leader who had a knack for politics and was especially able to accomodate different interests and talk with everybody from floor workers to academics to politicians. He employed the most bank-friendly economic policy in the world when he was president. how that gets painted as "socialism" is a matter to be studied by specialists.

Just as an example, all of the radical far left coalitions left PT and formed their own parties (PSTU, PSOL) during Lula's presidency - because he was flat out catering to capitalism.

He is attacked by the media all the time (deservingly) but that hasn't "aroused a patriotic sentiment" in Brazil.
It wasn't deserved in this case. You're also only speaking for yourself. For every American who would say the same thing you just did about Trump there's another who adores him.

I live in Brazil. I'm telling you - nothing has aroused a patriotic sentiment in the last weeks. if anything the fire crisis is the one thing that's undermining Johnny Bravo (that's how he wants to be called) the most.
