Conor McGregor didn’t feel the need to kick Michael Chandler when he was down.

After being matched up together for the better part of two years, Chandler eventually moved on from his pairing with McGregor when delays in their fight just became untenable. Chandler ended up facing Charles Oliveira in a rematch in the UFC 309 co-main event but things didn’t go his way.

Chandler ultimately lost a fairly one-sided decision outside of a late comeback where he nearly pulled off the upset but in the end, he still suffered his second straight defeat while falling to 1-4 in his past five fights. For his part, McGregor still praised Chandler after his latest performance despite coming up short against Oliveira.

“Cut Michael Chandler! Just kidding,” McGregor wrote and later deleted from Twitter. “Good fight. Mad little fellow is Michael. I like em’!”

I imagine Conor has even more confidence in the matchup with Chandler now. Would be hilarious if they manage to set a record for the most illegal actions in one fight.

Conor is almost completely irrelevent.
If he does fight in 2025, it will be 4 years after a leg break.
If he were to impossibly fight next month, and won, it would be his first win in 5 years, over an at the time washed up Donald Cowboy Cerrone.

It's glory days and paychecks for both Chandler and McGregor

Chandler has heart , he looked small and stiff in there against Oliveria, couldn’t find his range, he took a beating and never gave up on himself, survived multiple close submission attempts and rallied in the 5th.

McGregor talks shit from the sidelines like the little gimp he is, he wouldn’t have the gas, grit or the toughness to last 5 rounds with either man.
