Dominick Cruz suffered his first loss in over eight years at UFC 207, losing his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight title in December to Cody Garbrandt in a highly-entertaining affair.

Now, “No Love” is set to make his first-ever title defense against T.J. Dillashaw at the upcoming UFC 217 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Nov. 4, 2017 in New York City. And “The Dominator,” for one,” will be cheering on his old foe, as he’d love nothing more than to get a do-over against Garbrandt.

Mores-so than running it back against Dillashaw

Cody picking Cruz apart while dancing was one of the best things to watch in mma lately. Dom is an amazing fighter but I cringe at his style, was happy to see Cody figure him out.

I'm a big Garbrandt fan and I was losing my mind with excitement during this fight.
It was especially satisfying as I could almost hear my friend across the room grinding his teeth watching in frustration.

I'd love to see a rematch. War Cody!

Having said that the fight against TJ should be entertaining as well.

Do you guys think Dom would be any more successful if he got to fight Cody in a rematch?

I hated to see Cruz lose the fight and I was very impressed by Cody.

The old school fan in me just cant accept that was all Dom has for Cody.

Cody clearly won the fight but Cruz still won two of the rounds. So in a way the fight was closer than most people want to give credit. With a few adjustments Cruz can win a rematch and i would love to see if he can do it.

I like this. Preparing for the potential of injuries to capitalise. All for free. But I'd watch any of the combo of these fights

Surprising seeing as Dom declined an immediate rematch offer from Cody.

Cruz is a perfectionist who probably knew he had to work on some holes in his game before taking that rematch.

Maybe he's had some time to watch film and feels confident, without needing a warm-up fight.

He doesn't want dillashaw because dillashaw figured him out late in their fight and he would lose to dillashaw in a rematch......

He will lose to Cody also.

Let's hope this fight stays together so we can see 2 people who have genuine hatred for each other (albeit, Cody is acting the fool)

While I'd watch this, I'm enjoying Dom so much as a commentator that I don't care if he ever fights again. Hearing him call Rogan on his bullshit is awesome. Joe had years of getting away with saying whatever crap he wanted with Goldie by his side, but Cruz ain't having that. The constant little reminders that Joe was never an actual MMA fighter are fun too.

He'd get starched by either of them...

or maybe I'm just judging him solely based on the fight with Cody and by doing that it just seems like he's really not that good.

He's good but still think TJ or Cody in a rematch would dominate him

Absolutely. Cody was on the defensive and countering about 85% of the fight. Dom was much more aggressive than usual/he needed to be. In a rematch, if he plays it more to counter, his success will go up greatly. Might make for a worse fight but it's a smarter strategy. I think the fact that he was so worked up could have played a factor in this too though. Which showed with how predictable his takedown attempts were after that first one he hit. The first was a vintage timed Dom TD. His TDs are best when they flow off the end of combos or used to counter. He tried to force them against Cody which just wasn't working. A rematch is definitely winnable for Dom. Especially considering it's Dom.
