Apparently, Dana White and the powers that be in the UFC saw the massive potential in promoting boxing matches in August when its own Conor McGregor took on Floyd Mayweather Jr.

White appeared as a guest on the Wall Street Journal's Unnamed Podvideocast with Jason Gay. White discussed subjects ranging from anti-doping efforts in MMA to the National Anthem protests in the NFL. In between, White touched on the prospects of the UFC and boxing working together again.

“I could see bringing boxing under our umbrella and trying to see what we could do with that. I could see doing that.” With the fight grossing something in the neighborhood of $600 million, it's easy to see why the UFC would be looking to broaden its horizons.

Image if they took over boxing and started promoting kickboxing. Maybe kickboxing would actually take off in the US.

Probably not though.

They could put so many eyes on kickboxing.

I suspect they don't because it would take off and many would prefer it to MMA and the grappling aspect....

AND most elite kick boxers are foreign...so USA would be losing most of the kickboxing matches

would love it if they did though

They barely promote there own product now. They just put on fights they bitch at the fighters when numbers are low. As fans we are aware of the fights but most people have no idea when the events are and who is fighting.

I assumed that Dana's boxing lovefest was him angling to become a boxing promoter as an exit strategy from the UFC.

But if WME is seriously considering this, then they are even bigger dipshits than we thought. There's so many idiotic aspects to it that it's too hard to list them all.
