TMMAC,

Now we all know Eddie Alvarez's is now signed to OneFC.
He also recently went on Ariel Helwani's podcast and said his deal is 8 figure, meaning a minimum of $10 millionm and he also stated it isnt that many years.

So we can safely assume it is less than a 10 fight deal, meaning, is Eddie making well over $1 million per fight?
I did some research into OneFC's evaluation, which is estimated to be about $1 Billion but still,

is this possible? Ben Askren made $100,000 USD (including win bonus) in 2014 at OneFC.

Here is the video below

I ask you guys:
Does this make sense?

Didn't Ben also get expensive cars etc.? Also add in if Eddie negotiated for a certain number of people to always travel with him, etc. There are other things that could be bulking it up.

I don't think ONE deals necessarily have to mimic the UFC format. I think ONE is flush with new investment cash and Eddie is worth that amount to them win or lose, because if he loses he just builds up someone else.

Most likely he will either be a champ (which could be a contingency clause that in his mind might be "guaranteed"), or he will retire before he fulfills the entire contract depending on the brain damage he takes. Solid investment for ONE imo.

I guess what I'm saying is that I could believe it, even if it doesn't make total sense.

One million was the rumored asking price that Eddie went to Bellator with but Coker and Co. shot that down with a quickness so I'd say that it's unlikely that OneFC would be willing to pay more than than per fight.

But then again, maybe they made some crazy deal with him to become the face of the org and lure in other talented guys as they finally try to gain more and more marketshare so that they can begin to pay back some of their investors.

I dunno. It doesn't really make a lot of sense. Maybe they gave him a big signing bonus and are paying him a solid rate per fight for 8 to 10 fights at an estimated 3 fights per year. Who knows?

For a company that has lost money every year, it would be a bit nutty. If not for their investors, the money they're getting from legit VCs, they don't really have any decent income to report. So color me confused.

There’s money in Asia, some of it needs washing.

I'm really not sure what difference it makes, particularly from a standpoint of a fighter getting his dues.
If you're trying to guesstimate fights maybe, but I'd just wait until they're announced.
If I'm getting offered 10 mil for say 3 years, I'm more concerned with the check not bouncing than what exactly I'm doing to get it.
I think ONE can cover it.
