I think this takes away from the fact that Nate Diaz has a fantastic ground game.
nate has a top notch ground game. he tapped conor with a ken shamrock hand on the top of the head rnc in 3 seconds flat.conor didnt even try to defend or escape he just tapped

no one would even care if he hadnt talked allll that shit .he 100% brought this on himself. if he was humble he would be getting treated like any other fighter who has lost a fight .he pumped himself up so much that people are happy to see him fall.the talk of being a 3 division champ was the equivalent of ronda saying she could beat cain under the right circumstances.
True, nobody's saying he didn't talk shit and get punked. But we knew his ground game sucked. So nothing new was learned that we didn't already know. If Conor showed weaknesses in his stand-up game, to me that's where he could be "exposed" because we all assume he won't lose there. The RNC and the tap, that was inevitable once Nate had him on the ground. He was dead right there.

he finally fought someone who was not intimidated by him before they ever entered the cage and finally fought someone who he did not have a reach advantage over and it didnt work out the same as when he was beating up midgets

he tried to take nate down cuz he was getting rocked standing up
Exactly. But you're talking about him tapping fast to a RNC as why he got exposed. Where he got "exposed" was his inability to deal with the reach in the 2nd. We knew his ground game was sauce.

I was happy to see Nate win but let's not pretend like Connor wasn't lighting him the FUCK up in round 1.
The Diaz brothers sapp people's strength even when they're on the receiving end of a beating, somehow those guys manage to turn the tables and catch their opponents with something. It's a mysterious thing of beauty to watch as it plays out. You can even see that often guys don't respect that they get tagged and try their luck one more time....no one more time....and then they try to shoot in.
Maia vs Nick or Nate would be fun to watch.

Anyhow, I like how Connor moved in the first, like his post-fight analysis and like Nate's stubborn composure- that man isn't done until he says he is.

Just rewatched the fight. Conor actually didn't struggle with Nate's reach at all, he completely dominated the stand-up. I'd love to see the FightMetric stats, I bet Conor won it CLEAN, but he was fighting above his weight class and the difference was Nate could take Conor's shots and Conor couldn't take Nate's. Fight was over when Conor shot for the takedown.

Dayuuum if you look closely he just put a hand on flat on conor chin, and punches him in to the submission did even adjust to get it under the chin.

watch the gif a few more times.

he did not tap fast at all, he just didn't do "the right things" after being hurt standing and then on the ground

most fighters tap before they go out

Nope not according to fightmetric, significant strikes landed for round one was on 37% each, round 2 60% to 50% for nate, nate also topped him in control standing and on the ground.

he rolled over ... why roll over if you've given up already? could've just tapped but he didn't.

calling it like I see it, he was hurt, panicked, got hurt some more after a botched takedown and was subbed by a Gracie blackbelt

Jim Miller was exposed and has no BJJ whatsoever, what a joke of a fighter, didn't even try to escape and tapped inside 3 secs

suppose we can add Kurt Pellegrino to the list of bum fighters with no ground game and no heart too.

Holm's ground game definitely got exposed. Been saying for a while that her GG was shit and rumors from the gym were that it was terrible.. but beyond that, it was a typical holly holm ufc fight until Miesha went for the finish.

Connor got lit up by Nate, nothing to be ashamed of..

infact nothing to be ashamed of by either of them.

Haha, reminds me when women say "if you if you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best." Basically a girl's way of saying "If you can't handle me being a bitchy cunt, then you don't deserve this pussy." Funny how women try to make it sound all classy though.

I don't think Holly got exposed at all. She escaped trouble in round 2, and was 90 seconds away from winning the fight. Tate went absolutely all out and just gangstered the win. It was super impressive from her end. Of course Holly can improve her ground game, but she's not some white belt. She handled Ronda on the mat/in the clinch and only lost to Miesha at the very end of the fight.

i wouldnt say exposed, but he got everything he asked for. He has been fighting guys smaller than himself and finally fought a guy the same size. What got exposed it the excuse makers this goes for Zuffa, Dana and anyone else who uses the "he went up 2 weight classes" excuse. No he just didnt drop 2 weight classes and fight a guy 2 weight classes smaller.
