California. officers using the sobriety tests had an overall percent correct of. 91.296, .98 sensitivity, and .73 specificity.
Between a breathalyzer and a field sobriety test you should likely be let off almost every time. The percentages are in your favor for the standard probable cause.

Even that 9 percent makes me uneasy. That is not a small number.
You will still go to jail, have your car and pets impounded and face charges and incur legal fees to have the charge dropped and expunged from your record. That is alot of time, money and inconvenience for the margin of error to be nearly 9 percent imo.
There are plenty of substances you can be on for a dui that aren't alcohol. The breathalyzer is only valid for alcohol.

I had a mate go to the US for work. He was pulled over and asked to do a breathalyser, he didn't refuse just asked what would happen if he refused. He was violently pulled out of his car and thrown in jail for the night.

Plenty of other safer places all around the world where you don't have to deal with $7/hr minimum wage with no benifits and $7000 medication bills. You have no idea how absurd this sounds to the rest of the 1st world.

But I think that any discussion of illegal immigration across the southern border needs to start with how US agricultural subsidies are enhancing poverty in southern Mexico and Central America. Coupled with our international war on drugs, we create the incentives and financial mechanisms that drive most of the illegal immigration from those areas.
