The eye opener was the sale imo. Had the UFC not sold, they would have probably been able to get away with lowballing more fighters for longer.Lorenzo and Frank were able to lowball fighters and wind up with approx $1.5 billion each off blood & sweat of those fighters.
Luckily those days are coming to end thanks to Viacom and Scott Coker providing competition and a true alternative.
I think the UFC pissed off some Viacom & Spike execs over the years, and Viacom is in this for the long haul. I really do.The eye opener was the sale imo. Had the UFC not sold, they would have probably been able to get away with lowballing more fighters for longer.
When you see the company sell for 4b and you're only making 60k to show, that really opens your eyes.
Again though, the question is how much is Viacom willing to eat before they see return. I've heard that they told Bellator execs to spend what is needed, which is a good sign
Mousasi is on a 200/200 from what I've read. Can Bellator do better than that? Is Mousasi worth that much to bellator?
I agree. Don't see why Viacom would be giving a real international push, trying to establish new mma markets, if they weren't looking at this long term.I think the UFC pissed off some Viacom & Spike execs over the years, and Viacom is in this for the long haul. I really do.
I'll be buying it as well.I agree. Don't see why Viacom would be giving a real international push, trying to establish new mma markets, if they weren't looking at this long term.
Still though. Bellator needs to be able to make at least a couple waves a year on ppv if they have any hopes of competing.
Really do hope their ppv next month does well. I'll be buying if the card holds up(the Lima, pico, chandler fights need to hold up) don't care much about the main event.
I find it strange that the UFC is still giving him play, due to the fact that he isn't under contract. They must have through that they were close to a deal.
No one is trying to get low balled anymore. Coker let it be known that he was planning on going to the neathetlands early 2018; mousasi probably has this in mind when negotiating with the UFC.
Bellator is going to really start cutting into the UFCs profit margins if the UFC ever starts really battling for its fighters. The question is can Bellator keep it up? The initial push is the money pit. in sure Bellator is deep in the red
They are airing the bellator cards on the dutch spike channel, but it's usually on a week later.I'll be buying it as well.
My bad. I make horrible spelling errrors more often than not, as I'm usually checking the forums while I'm at work.Come on son?!!!
I know we are a small country and all but seriously neathetlands???

I do not agree, if he wants to do that he has to sign a new contract which probably locks him in with a 8-fight deal and probably some kind of champion clause. Not the way to negotiate. Take the belt, and use it as leverage. Otherwise, leave the company and get paid elsewhere.
so sign a 6 fight deal, get a title shot, win the title, defend it 5 times, AND THEN you'll get what you're worth...Not the way to negotiate. Take the belt, and use it as leverage. Otherwise, leave the company and get paid elsewhere.
whoa that is coolCome on son?!!!
