Simple question. I mean gun pulled on you as a threat or by someone whose intentions you couldn't interpret, not you and your pal Dick Cheney playing hide the birdshot in the woods.

Heck I've been shot at, but also pointed at and not shot.

People have brandished pistols at me but never pointed the barrel. It is usually the lifting of the shirt to show the gun. I have been menaced more with knives as every one has one and box cutters.

Yes. Little cunt was lucky I wasn't driving or I'd have run him over.

And Iraqi security another time when I was visiting the fancy building in town.

No. I live in the UK, so far less likely. Had knives pulled on me a few times but obviously not the same thing.

My brother had the cops point guns at him. He walked out of his flat and they shouted for him to get on the ground with his hands on his head. Turns out they wanted someone else in the flats.

I had a gun pulled me in Enfield. Outside The Stag and Hounds. Drug deal gone sour.

It was a powerful air pistol. Probably wouldn't have killed me unless it was shot directly through my eyeball.

For all the talk of "Americans and their guns", I've never even seen one apart from Law Enforcement.

Unless you count I shot one at a shooting range decades ago.

Outside of the NYC metro area this really isn't a common occurrence.

Yes. It was a cop that I didn't know. He was young and nervous with a gun pointed at my head from 2 feet away in a doorway. I was trying to hold back a full grown vicious Alaskan Husky so I couldn't put my hands up and 'freeze' or the dog would have mauled him.

It was a terrible situation where so many things could have gone wrong. I think I know where the term "your life flashes before your eyes" comes from. I don't know if time slows down or your mind speeds up. I don't remember all of my 'flash' because it was so long ago but I remember accepting that I was about to die. Another thought that I specifically remember was "I don't even have kids yet".

I changed the poll for multi-select so you can tell us your war and life stories.
