Yeah, they needed to do some reshoots and Cavill was working on mission impossible which required the mustache, so they shot his scenes with the mustache and then cgi'ed it out, why his mouth looks all fucked up in the movie.

The dumbest part about that given that he was out of commission and awakens all dark superman mode, if they had kept some facial hair on him, it would have been fine

Fans would find out online that they had to figure out how to make it work due to his commitment to the other movie and the timing, idk, throw him in some darker costume or something make it all dirty and fucked up and he has a wicked fuckin stache, no fucks would have been given

Instead they give him gumby mouth, real fuckin smart
