I went to a debate between a YE creationist and another Christian who followed more closely what modern science says.

This was years ago but I remember the YE guy actually having some compelling information. I wish I could remember what it was now lol.

Fascinating topic though.

That's likely to be the sign of a great orator, rather than a convincing argument.

Great debaters can "win" even when factually incorrect , if up against a lesser skilled opponent.

Given the overwhelming evidence that the Earth is not 6,000 years old, he must have been one hell of a speaker lol.

I dont recall if there was a winner. It was pretty laid back, they were both Christians, it did not get heated at all. It was in front of maybe 100 people, just a small local thing. It was put on by a local AM Christian radio station I used to listen to.

I do recall him saying that the 6000 year thing was not what he was proposing, more pushing back that the earth was younger than science thinks it is.

Id say looking back on that and what we now of the corruption within the science community, from vaccines to gender to god knows what else, that yeah, science probably has more explaining to do than we all thought they did.
