lol I knew this was gonna be the Ed Mylett video when I saw the thread title.
Mylett has some good stuff, but he's one of a new wave of entrepreneur / personal development / quasi tough guy that made a lot of money or has a real successful business, now have podcast aimed at typically pushing younger guys. They just do more of a "tough guy" spin on it. Andy Frisella is another one.
They're not as bad as the guys running the "bootcamps" of men entrepreneurs going camping, running on the beach, fighting each other, etc in the name of broadening themselves, bonding with other men, and a bunch of other rah rah bullshit.
Don't get me wrong - like I said, Mylett has some good stuff. So does Frisella.
But a lot of it goes really over the top and ends up kinda cringe, if I'm honest.
Really, they're the new "macho" version of Gary Vee, who popularized the whole "hustle & grind" culture...which has (IMO) done more harm than good.
Do a lot (most?) people in modern society need to work more and / or harder? Yeah.
Problem is they are embracing "hustle and grind" for the sake of "hustle and grind"...not in the vein of actually getting anything done.
As a result, they end up finding ways to be "busy", but not "productive", yet convincing themselves they're still awesome or doing it right because they're all about that hustle & grind. It's a recipe for burnout, failure, and disaster.
Ask me how I know. lol
