Brett Rogers

He came in hot and burned his way through fights in EliteXC and Strikeforce. Arlovski was his biggest win during this streak. Then he had his head exploded by Fedor. After that he went on a losing streak with several losses, including a sub loss to Josh Barnett and a TKO to Alistair Overeem. Outside of the cage, he also had some weird shit going on (arrests for domestic assault and sexual misconduct). The train fell totally off the tracks when it was reported in 2017 that he was thought to be homeless. "Da Grim's" last fight in a major organization (decision loss to Volkov, Bellator 75) was in 2012, and he hasn't had a pro fight since 2015. His record stands at 17-10-1, having mixed results in smaller orgs in his last 10 fights.

Erick Silva

After a solid run in Jungle Fight, Silva made his way to the UFC. He was positioned to become the new Brazilian star. He's never been able to regain the steam he had since Fitch but a beatdown on him, and he's had mixed results in the Octagon ever since that 2012 fight. He's racked up losses to most of the bigger names hes fought, including Dong Hyun Kim, Matt Brown, Neil Magny, Yancy Medeiros, and Jordan Mein. He also appears to be one of the USADA casualties.

Brandon Thatch
He came in to the UFC with a 9-1 record, with all wins being first round finishes. He started his UFC run with a couple nice finishes of Justin Edwards and Paulo Thiago. He was then scheduled against Wonderboy, but Thompson had to withdraw. This led Brandon to a short notice fight against Henderson, who was stepping up to welterweight after a very successful run at lightweight. Thatch lost by RNC in the fourth round, and lost his next three fights. He sits on a 4 fight losing streak and hasn't fought since 2016.

Todd Duffee

He came into the UFC looking like a beast, and it seemed he may be the young gun to make some waves at heavyweight. Backing up his hype, was a 7 second KO of Tim Hague. After this Todd had back-to-back KO losses to Mike Russow and Alistair Overeem. He won a few, and then got KTFO again by Frank Mir. His record stands at 9-3 and he hasn't fought since the KO by Mir in 2015.

Jimmy Ambriz - huge bastard who was steamrolling guys on smaller shows like KOTC. Demolished Dan Bobish, who was half legit at the time. I remember people on Sherdog were Ooo'ing and Ahhh'ing at how much he was bench pressing and squatting in the gym, assuming that a guy that strong would no doubt be a world beater. Got the big call up to fight Josh Barnett and enjoyed a mediocre career as cannon fodder from there on out.

Houston Alexander

He made his entrance to the UFC with two quick highlight KOs of Keith Jardine and Alessio Sakara, before hitting a 3 fight skid (KO losses to Thiago Silva and James Irvin, and then choked out by Eric Schafer). His UFC run ended with a loss in one of the worst fights of all time with Kimbo Slice. He had a couple of fights in Bellator, but his post-UFC career has mostly been in smaller orgs. His record stands at 17-16.

I'm gonna get some flak for this, but . . .

Mirko "Cro-Cop" Filipovic

After winning the PRIDE Open Weight Grand Prix, the UFC signed him and gave a lot of hype to his coming to the Octagon, calling him "the Most FEARED Heavyweight in MMA Today!" Joe Rogan even tried to put it into casual fan terms for his hype "He's like a Heavyweight Chuck Liddell! He KOs people left and right!"

On other MMA discussion boards, he was already being crowned UFC champion claiming no one in the UFC could beat him.

UFC even set him up with a gimme fight with Eddie Sanchez, hoping to get a highlight reel KO. Instead, while CroCop did win, it wasn't a very exciting bout.

Then the unthinkable happened . . .

. . . while that wasn't the end of CroCop's career (and he did avenge that loss), he never got anywhere near another MMA title after that.

Yeah, and they had a few decent exchanges too. Then they both ran out of gas big time.

Watching that gif, you may be right about the flash KO. He went still/limp there for a second.

Holly Holm
She was poised to be the future of WMMA after making the poster girl look silly-

But since that she is just 1-4 with her only win against Bethe Correia.

Brandon Vera was the first fighter I thought of. Dude went from calling for 2 belts before he had 1 to a handful of rough losses against decent competition

The memories...

Man, I was super hyped on Brandon Thatch at the time. Anyone know what he's up to now?

I had that on my list, but was going back and forth on if I wanted to include him. He definitely hit a skid in the UFC with his TKOs to Shogun and Ben Rothwell. He did well in One FC, but he hasn't had a fight since 2016.

Khabib’s friend, Rustam Khabilov

When swarm of Dagestanis came to the UFC, Rustam caught my attention more than Khabib.

Rustam was good friends of Khabib and also trained by Khabib’s dad before coming to the US, but they split up once they got here, Khabib to Aka and Rustam to Jackson’s.

That fight where Rustam Ko suplexed his opponent is the only fight I remember, he disppeared and nobody cares

Not sure if Carwin should be included since injuries caused his retirement but he looked unstoppable until Lesnar then JDS wore him out.

I saw Brett Rogers at a Peruvian asadero restaurant when he still trained at ATT. As I'm leaving I see him unlocking a bicycle from in front of the restaurant.

The guy that destroyed Arlovski and fought Fedor national TV was riding a fucking bike to get something to eat.

It was a bit sad honestly.

Gotta wonder if his height fluctuating all the time affected his in ring performance. :D

But since that she is just 1-4 with her only win against Bethe Correia.

I blame the promotion more than i blame Holly on this.

They used her star power too early and set up matches that holly just wasnt ready for.
