I honesty have very little idea of what I'm doing. I feel like other experienced employees realize this and are constantly scrutinizing what I'm doing. I've barely been at this place two months. I tried to ask questions to my assigned mentor and other experienced people.

On the one hand, I don't want to annoy the shit out of everyone on the other hand if I'm just going through the motions, not knowing what to do AND not learning what to do, I'll be fucked a year from now.

What jason73 @jason73 said. I currently work with a guy who started in the field the same time as I did and he's completely fucking useless. Asking some "How do you do this here?" questions are one thing. Needing to be babysat is another. What's funny is his lack of initiative in just observing others will likely lead to him being fired. Not that he's a bad guy, or completely incompetent, but he is showing 0 growth as an employee. The fact that you're asking here shows you care enough to improve. Most people (like my co-worker) just think they can coast by screwing the pooch.

Don't be afraid to ask questions man. You may think you're being a pain, but the person you're asking may be flattered. Also, no one will be able to accuse you of not trying to learn. Ask & learn everything you can for the next 6 months and then you should be good to go.

Asking questions show that you are trying to improve and advance your abilities.it shows you are trying.there is nothing more frustrating than someone who is content with not learning or improving and doing the bare minimum to keep their job.if you can find someone willing to help you out even if it is not your mentor it will help you build confidence.once you have confidence you wont feel like a fraud and life will be easier for you.remember this when you have been there for a while and another new guy is standing in your shoes.help him out and you will be part of a strong team
