I haven't run a DNA test on him but it's very possible that he is both at least genetically.

Pre-Ilia (starting to fight) I had a couple of friends from Georgia that said they originally descended from Basque people (a generation or two back) and there is a decent sized community in Georgia of these Russian/Spanish hybrids.

The nickname is retarded though, he isn't a legend...at least yet.
