Jose Aldo has a name and a date in mind for his next UFC fight.

The former UFC featherweight champion is open to the idea of fighting Jeremy Stephens at the company’s upcoming pay-per-view event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 12, he told Brazilian TV show Revista Combate.

Aldo said that the UFC originally approached him with the idea of fighting in April, but it would be too soon for him to get back in action. With the company returning to Rio de Janeiro for UFC 224, Aldo wants a featherweight clash with Stephens.

“I asked to fight him, he asked to fight me, so it will be a great fight,” Aldo said. “I’m waiting for them to set it up.”

Make or break for Aldo. Put on a crazy performance and finish Jeremy and maybe that puts you back in place.

This seems like a relatively easy fight for Aldo.
He's still very fast.
I'd put dough on him, and a little for the tko.

Probably the best fight either guy could make. Aldo could always eat a shot, but he should be able to outbox Stephens over 3 rounds. And it's the name Stephens needs to push for a title shot.

Seems like Stephens could use a win over an opponent with more recent success to get to contender status. I’d rather see Aldo vs Lamas tbh because it’s a bounce back fight for both guys.

I think we took Aldo for granted. We got so used to his dominance, and his lack of push from the UFC combined with his limited English, kept him from being a major star. He seems like a good guy with principles, and the fact that he wants a dangerous Stephens after losing 3 of 4 shows what a warrior spirit he has.

I want Aldo to do whatever he needs to do to get another shot at McBurgerKing. I need that fight again.

Would take some streak. And he would have to hope someone knocks off Max, because after two fights I think he can’t turn back the clock enough to beat Max in a five round fight.

I think Conor will lose his next two fights. Then my dream might come true.

Nobody ever doubted Aldo or said he was a ducker. He is scared of no man.

Conor is probably never fighting anyone not named Nate Diaz ever again.
