And has a striking game too. He inflicts way more damage on the ground than pillow fist khabib and actually sets his takedowns up.

Thoughts?

Lee finished Barboza and Khabib didn't, so you might be right...

His stand-up is better and definitely does more damage on the ground

I still think khabib could out wrestle him but Lee continues to prove me wrong, so I could be underestimating him again

It is intriguing...last night was good for his confidence

and he may skip Tony to fight Khabib depending on how long rehab takes

my only thought is...

do you want to take khabib down or even wrap up with him if your Lee....I don't know what Khabib does from bottom, but his scrambles are likely to be as good as Kevin or better

Would Lee try to fight standup game only?

and what are the sizes of these guys compared to each other?

I am a firm believer that matchup makes fights...never know who will have somebodies number until it goes down.

Lees biggest advantage is in the striking so i guess he would keep the fight standing, i could be wrong but i read somewhere that lee has a 2inch reach advantage (i will double check that tho). Khabibs takedowns are pretty sloppy imo too so i think Lee would stop them easily.

Edit: Lee has a 7inch reach advantage according to the stats on wikipedia.

ya but if you shoot on khabib and he stuffs he will be on your back like the quickness I think

7 inches is a lot...if that is true then keep it standing IMO

He's certainly more entertaining.
But if Khabib could withstand Barboza on the feet, I don't see Lee being in issue.
To me, it's kinda like the boring dominant guy vs. the less boring less dominant guy.

All Barboza had to do to knock Lee tfo was not rush him, take a couple more pot shots, maybe fake a hand shake and bitch slap him and we'd be talking about Conor vs. Barboza, and Conor would lose that one.

I can't disagree with the overall premise here, but I've been harder looking at an armoire.

Well I said this in another thread and the Khabib-lovers got a little triggered, but the fact remains Khabib has been matched up primarily with strikers.

His whole game is predicated on taking guys down and grinding them down... so what happens when he runs into a guy that he can't take down? Or a guy that takes HIM down? Can he fight off his back? Can he change gears and find a way to win?

There's so much that is unknown about Khabib. I'd really like to see Lee get a shot at him.

The only good part of the fight was when Lee was doing the chicken dance. Hopefully Khabib can ragdolland pound him for 25 minutes.

Lee has too many holes to beat Khabib. He needs to slow things down and get some more seasoning, but I can see his next fight being Eddie Alvarez considering the present UFC matchmaking and that's a fight that could get away from him.

Ferguson is better at the moment, but with a couple more fights, Lee could maybe catch up to him in a rematch. Khabib would take discipline to beat, as would Conor. I can see Poirier being the most logical matchup to keep both of them busy.

Watching Lee punch and hammer fist the CTE into Barboza was entertaining

yes if we go by MMAth but only way to really find out is if they've fought.

anything other than that is guessing game and a pissing contest between who's opinion is better
