Let's Rate EVERY Geek Thing Ever

So here's the idea. We rate every Geek thing ever. I got the idea elsewhere but thought it would be a fun concept for geek stuff here.

Here's how I think it should work:

We start with a few items. Then we debate them based on impact, awesomeness and anything else relating to the level of awesome it actually possesses.

For instance, air conditioning and man rape. I'd say air conditioning is better than man rape... By a lot. So,
AC is #1 on the list and Man Rape is #2.

Someone introduces Bacon and we have a debate. Is bacon better than AC?

So we do this with Geek stuff.

Ill start with the first 3 things. Debate their position if you don't agree and introduce new things as well. Well talk as long as needed.

I'll start.

Marvel Comic, Star Wars and He-Man.

I think The Daredevil movie is worse than He-Man and Born Again is better than He-Man.

I'm guessing the majority vetos that vote. I think A2 is ultimately better than batfleck Daredevil. I'd place it below He-Man but above Batfleck DD.

I don't mind the placing of Star Trek or WoW but I totally disagree with DQing Born Again.
Individual comics have impact that could potentially be greater than the whole of DC or Marvel. Especially considering the history of shady shit from both companies. That's where the debate comes in. I should also say individual comics could be greater than other geek things. We're rating every geek thing ever.


I think Born Again was more significant and a more impactful to the culture than Avengers 2.

Let me go ahead and try to establish some ground rules before this gets too confusing.

First, Let's not recreate our own lists. Lets work with the one fixed list.
Secondly, let's introduce no more than two new geek things to the list in each post.
Third, if you feel something need to be over thrown or is wrongly rated; give a reason why.
4th, everything is up for play. It's up to us to veto or disagree. But for example, don't change items. Born Again is very much not Frank millers comics as a whole when it comes to rating it as great or not. I do think the "Millers Comics" is a proper thing but it will have to be rated separately from the already existing Born Again series.


All that said, this will obviously take some time. I'll update the main list once a week as we have a definitive agreement on an items placement. I'll do it Monday. Tokyo time, so maybe on Sunday for most of you.

I'm dropping Lego cos it was 3 things added. You can reintroduce it if you want. All the colours get mixed up and they hurt when you step on them, so I would have moved it down the list anyway.

Aside from that, not a bad order.

I put Miller comics as Born again came under Marvel but Miller has written some of his best work for other companies. Chewie definitely falls under Star Wars

That cartoon was incredibly good, and Lego is pretty much the most geek thing ever. They now make even more geek versions of it than they did when we were kids.

Fearless warrior, good at fixing shit, can drive anything, and loyal as fuck. Contrast that with the weasely, whiny, fickle, cowards that make up the rest of the character list, and tell me who you'd rather have your back when the chips are down.

He's also strong and wicked tall. Think of how handy that shit would be when you're trying to wall mount your new flat screen.

If were talking Frank Miller, then I think Alan Moore needs to be mentioned aswell.
