Logan Paul has long talked about potentially making a move into MMA, but it turns out the YouTuber and professional wrestler actually attempted to make his debut in 2024 but his offer was rebuffed.

While he’s got plenty keeping him busy these days, the 29-year-old WWE superstar revealed on the latest episode of his podcast that he reached out to Dana White about potentially appearing one of the marquee events held this past year. Unfortunately, Paul says the lack of response from White essentially gave him the answer.

“I told Dana for UFC 300, I texted him ‘Hey man, consider me available to fight on the undercard in the Sphere,”” Paul said. “Basically completely ignored me, which I think speaks volumes. I haven’t bothered him about it since.

“I think for the right fight, the right amount of money [I would do it], and I’m an entertainer at the end of the day.”

Now Paul actually referenced two different cards with UFC 300 taking place this past April at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas while UFC 306 was held at the Sphere. Either way, Paul didn’t exactly receive an enthusiastic response from White so he just let the idea go.

For all the ways Paul might actually be better suited for a potential career in MMA with a background in wrestling — he was a third-place finisher in the state finals in Ohio — he feels like perhaps another WWE standout might have ruined it for everybody else.

CM Punk played a major role in the recent downfall of UFC. Dana was riding such a high he felt they could do anything without risking their reputation. They signed a dude that fights like a 10-year-old girl, and let him do it on their platform TWICE.

Good on Dana for ignoring Logan. I'm sure he wouldn't embarrass himself as badly as Punk, but it's not the right kind of "sideshow" fight the fans are looking for. Bring back Open Weight!

Paul is worth close to $100m, isn't he? No chance Dana would ever pay him whatever it would take to put him in the cage.

Pretty much the fall of the UFC was after B.J. Penn (GOAT) got robbed by Frankie "Two Times" and that's not even up for debate...

That's all...

Sounds about right. I watch like a bad habit anymore. I can't convince anyone who bailed to get back into it. The experiment has been failing for about...seven years.

WMMA played a huge part too, but that's for another thread.
Seems like a weird thing to hang on two fights given WMMA, the complete lack of stars and $100 PPV prices.

A little bit of fun to see him get his ass kicked or beat a complete jobber. I have no objections. The UFC became sports entertainment a long time ago. The line in the sand has already be crossed.

I'd watch. Can't go any worse than 37+ year old white belt Punk getting embarrassed by guys Dana had to find on the regional scene.

Would be worse than cm punk , he was training at rufus sport for years before he finally signed for a fight, Paul’s younger and more athletic, but he’s a shit boxer and his wrestling credentials are worthless.
