Zidan is as shady - and I'm using one of his own favourite terms - as they come. He has stolen many articles and scoops by touch from the ug without refering his name.

He bitches about the judges in Russia being Russian... while I guess the refs and the judges in the ufc are from France, Japan and Somalia, right Karim?

I don't know how come he speaks Russian but most of his posts are as anti-Russian as they come... and it's quite obvious his origins are not Russian at all.

He don't stand a chance. What is there to argue? The first could've been a 10-8, but that's so subjective there's no way to prove fuckery. Fedor definitely won the 2nd and 3rd. There's no controversy. The fight could've been a draw or a win by Fedor, either way would've been acceptable. I personally think the first was 10-8, but I routinely give 10-8 more than judges.

after consideration of warrior request Brazil we determine score indeed incorrect. Correct score for glorious soldier Emilianenko 30-26.

It most likely won't change a thing, but what's with all the prejudice? Cold War-propaganda still in your heads? When is the last time an American AC changed something on a fighter's appeal for a bad decision or even something that happened in the fight? And how often does that happen?

I do think the appeal is ridiculous but more so on the fact that and article I posted a couple days ago talked about how rare unanimous 10-8 rounds are in any MMA event and no way he won the last two rounds. That said I do think it's a conflict in interest having Fedor over the federation and while I'm not sure it played a factor in the judging. I think it likely did in the ref not stopping round 1.

Of course the conflict is there, but that was known before the fight as well, and should have been by Maldonado before the fight. But what where they supposed to do? Have Fedor step down for this fight, or for a year or whatever? As if that would have changed anything really..

Supposedly he has stepped down but they still intro him as president everywhere. Bottom line as it has always been for combat sports to beat champions and legends you better not let it go to judges. Let's not pretend this same thing doesn't happen in UFC in Brazil.
Honestly I'm so pro Fedor and Russian MMA and that's all my posts have been I posted this trying to be neutral.

And you think all this is not politically motivated? Really? Seriously, you guys should stay away from the GM food they're feeding you and start growing your own shit.

Anyway, whether you live in the US or Europe, I hope you're all proud that you all live in a corruption-free area

Great reply. Slightly missed my point, but some great info there.

I didnt say I did live in a corruption free zone. I was just highlighting the sports corruption in Russia. Not general corruption....

Name another nation or area that have recently hosted the Winter Olympics (or a major sports event) which was clouded in controversy over how it was won, threatened with DQ from one of the biggest football tournaments in the world due to potentially state sponsored borderline terrorism, banned entirely from the Olympics due to alleged state sponsored doping and will then host the Soccer World Cup in 2 years time...

Sports only. Not "real life".

Lets stay with MMA, shall we? Also everything Blatter says is of no concern to me, I wouldn't even trust the dude to water a plant of mine.

Just think about it, what is the probability Maldonado would be successful with his appeal in the US? It really is kinda zero as well, isn't it? Whether that has something to do with corruption or not doesn't really change the outcome.
Also I do think if Fedor is so powerful there, and his name is directly tied to all of this, then it depends on him, and is on his name. Now the question is whether you think Fedor himself is corrupt, or not.
The ref and judges could very well just have acted out of their own conscience, its not _that_ clear cut imo. Bad reffing and judging happens a lot.. in the US as well.
And what about Lesnar and his drug-tests and stuff like that? I'm sure dacofty @dacofty could give you countless of ridiculous cases. ;)

I just found it a bit ironic to have a very bad track record in all of this in the US, but then to try to shit on Russia just because its Russia.
