Max Holloway’s UFC featherweight title reign will continue against the man it originally was supposed to start against.

Holloway (19-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC) has been booked to defend his belt vs. Frankie Edgar (22-5-1 MMA, 16-5-1 UFC) at UFC 222, a person with knowledge of the situation told MMAjunkie. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the UFC has yet to announce the fight....

Really interesting fight.

Max hasn't faced any genuine wrestlers throughout his career. Dennis Bermudez is probably the best wrestler he has fought (2013 bout), and lost via split decision. Max is a different animal these days, obviously.

I can't go past Max though, he should be able to get it done against Frankie, but I think it may be one of his toughest fights stylistically.

Yup, definitely an interesting fight...At 36, Frankie is quite old for a fighter in the lighterweights imo...But he's looked like he's still performing at the top of his game...If that's still the case it could be a huge challenge for Max.

Can't wait for this payday to finally come through. Frankie takes him down easy.

I always find it hard to bet against Frankie, but I gotta be honest, I think his time has passed. Like Hansel, Max is so hot right now, I just don't see him losing this fight.

I'm more concerned about how a broken orbital can be cleared to fight like 5(?) months later...... No bueno.

Excited to see how Edgar does after he absoluted wrecked Yair Rodriguez. Should be an interesting striker vs. grappler matchup... I think Max is gonna surprise a lot of people with his wrestling ability.
