This is basically how I would have scored it. I can see the third round as a 10-8, word from the ABC conference was that they are trying to liberalize the use of 10-8 rounds (and rightfully so), so I'm not mad at a draw either. In the moment, I scored it 48-47 for Conor.
I think this was a huge night for him, we saw him adapt tactically, which is a lot more difficult for fighters to do than people realize. Arguably Nate's biggest advantage was his vastly superior ground game, so Conor stayed off the ground with some really impressive TD defense. Arguably the biggest mistake Conor made last time was chasing a fast KO, and he fought a much more measured approach. This is pretty solid evidence that Conor might be an all-time great fighter. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does next.
Keep in mind, I watched the fight while wearing a Diaz Brothers Neighborhood Watch shirt. I am very biased towards Diaz. Sometimes you need to set that stuff aside, look at the fight objectively, and give Conor his credit.
