Nate Diaz vows he’ll dictate the terms of his UFC return, if he returns to the octagon at all.

“I don’t need to fight nobody,” Diaz recently told the “Outside the Box” podcast. “I’ll fight anybody, but I don’t need to fight anybody.”

....

At times, the Diaz brothers and their promoter seem miles away from coming together, leading to speculation of a move into boxing, where they might receive the purses they desire. That would undoubtedly trigger a court battle with the UFC.

The way it stands now, the industry-leading promotion has the right to extend the Diaz’s contract when they turn down fights, extending the current stalemate. To break it, the younger Diaz said the brothers want respect.

“We put in our work,” Diaz said. “And I’ll put in more work. But ask nicely, (expletive). Ask nicely.”

He either needs new management or needs to start listening to a good manager. He is burning his best years thinking he has forever. People will start giving no fucks.

I like having the Diaz boys around and fighting but I think the "Street" notion of respect is really costing them a lot money and more importantly, time. Which they can never recover. Tomorrow feels like forever but the vast history of your life is but a pittance.

I support nate not fighting.at the end of the day he can look at himself in the mirror and know he didnt bow down .when the money is all gone he will still have his soul.could he have made more money?sure he could have but money comes and goes.once respect is gone its gone for good

Yeah, that is a good point. Do you feel he holds respect in higher regards than money or do you think he equates money with respect. IE: The more you respect me the more you pay me? I feel it is the latter.

MMA is better with both Diaz bros fighting. Dana needs to pay them and get them back in the cage.

100% agree, I've walked away from a lot of dollars over the years because self-respect is more important. I've always paid the bills and kept the wolves from the door, but I could likely be close to retiring if I'd put money first.

Zero regrets.

No, wasting your prime fighting years is fighting RDA/woodley or whomever for 40K and get wrestlefucked to a UD loss.

Waiting out for a huge fight isn't.
