Why does someone dump their purse out on a public forum for all the world to see and then when people respond, say:
"mind ur business."

I'm not excusing the rude assholes that responded to that tweet, but Dude, you made it their business when you went public.

I don't think he will ever be back after that tweet. That's a classic example of burning your bridges behind you.

This is interesting
Should a fighter that should be headlining a KOTC card for $500 be complaining about making $12,000\$12,000
Or
Should the UFC cut the 250 KOTC level fighters they have and pay the top 200 more what they deserve?
Damn dude, I loathe to disagree with you but he has a point.

Anyone man or woman who steps in that cage is potentially putting their lives on the line for our entertainment, and in my opinion their pay should reflect that. The UFC is the top of the line for fighters, and while I understand your post I think that once you make it to the big leagues you should be compensated appropriately. A low level NFL or NBA player makes way more than the guys who are destroying their health for our enjoyment and I can’t get behind that.

well, there was a point where he was just knocking people dead, other fighters come in from out of the blue like that and get given a lot more. If not money, certainly exposure. So I'd say he has a right to complain, if he is not deemed worthy to fight in the UFC then cut him, but if he is in there surely he must have enough to be able to make a living and focus entirely on fighting.. especially if he's a "KOTC headliner" level guy that would still be quite green and need all the time he can to train.

We're also assuming money, this very well might not have been for the $ amount...but I guess we go with what we can in these circumstances.

Yeah I actually just edited the post. It didn’t come off right. Yes the UFC should pay much more to the fighters. I do think that a trim off the roster would be good. There are simply to many fighters under contract. I wonder how many potential great careers are being ruined by guys 3-0 fighting in the ufc. They lose 2 of 3 and get cut.

wow didn't mean to pile on lol

I agree with that..I'll add that we as fans at some point will have to start giving other orgs equal shit for treating fighters poorly...maybe not necessarily right now, but we'll have to eventually. More is expected of the UFC and correctly so.

I respectfully disagree. You fight to be the best, or for money, or to get away from the ol' lady for a while. Anyone who is stepping in the cage purely for the entertainment of others has a personality disorder.

This 'I do it all for the fans' pose is about as genuine as a touring band saying "Insert your town here is the rockingest city in the world! You guys are the best!" I get why they do it, but I still don't buy it.

Do you think this is a remnant of their previous scouting style (if you want to call it that) trying to not let any talent go unnoticed or just general poor management?

I also agree with the last part
Very well could be any other form of disrespect.

Both
I think it’s the ufc trying to be the sport of Mma instead of the top promotion. Signing everyone they can to avoid losing out on a prospect and letting them build up a name. I don’t know enough about managers and how it all works. Just seems guys that establish themselves outside the ufc. Then come to the ufc to negotiate, get better deals. I can’t imagine signing a $12,000 contract to fight in the ufc.

I too would like to see them cut about 150 fighters from the roster. The UFC is supposed to be the Major Leagues of MMA, not a feeder organization. More times than not in 2017, there was 6-8 fighters per card that I had never heard of.

They could cut 100 guys and most people would have never heard of any of them

He never should have made the UFC, but since he did, one would think he should probably be getting paid more than a teenager working for minimum wage at McDonalds.

They (UFC) want to be considered the major leagues of MMA and a "sport" on the same level as the "Big 4" but they pay a high percentage of their fighters what would be below the poverty line here in Canada. While in the grand scheme of things, they do pay more than any other organization (to my knowledge anyways) it is still far too much for a majority of the roster. The only issue I have is the bashing should also extend to Bellator. While Bellator is clearly a number 2 organization, they are still the "big leagues" and a fighter in the opening fight of any given Bellator card should be making a lot more than 6K......and subsequently any fighter in an opening fight of a UFC event should be making more than 12K.

I think it's possible that the UFC could keep their current roster size and just repackage things so it was clear some fighters were working their way up and others were already at the top. The road to the top should just be long like Pancrase.
