I've seen this option in some places but I feel I don't understand the value, explain for me please?

If you are unsure of how a post will appear once posted, perhaps trying to insert images or other media, a quick preview to check that it will format correctly before posting can be useful.

I see. You find posts change a little sometimes from text box to forum? I'm sure they do I just don't notice much.

Well it just came up because I wanted to embed a reddit post, but I wasn't 100% I had the right link. I checked it by previewing the post, but it takes clicking the more options button to bring up another page to do it. Anything that involves less page calls is better.

Probably. Might require a pop up overlay to show the preview
