Saw this back in March. They charged him with attempted murder because they said there was no way he could know he was hitting a mannequin.

But when he was picked up, he said he knew it was a mannequin, so it's going to be tough for the DA to prove intent. The attempted murder charge seemed to be a strategic move to hold him in custody while they researched any similar killings in Michigan, where the guy lived before moving to Vegas.
