@SAJ a tall guy like you (like me), use those leg hooks (butterfly, X, single leg X, etc)... That really is a game changer, you'll appreciate it when you realize how often you will find yourself using them.
Clock choke in Nogi? Hmmm, I'm listening...Beautifully executed... Shaolin's butterfly is awesome, I watched his tutorials a bunch for that position. The clock choke is one of my favorites (gi and no gi), it went away for a while in a lot of tournaments due to the fact that guys pulled guard and were usually finishing matches winning or losing on points/advantages, but lately I've seen a resurgence of them and I love it.
Basically a headlock, but you finish with the same ending technique as the gi (sliding your weight over your opponent, your head down low, walk your legs around). I like setting it up from turtle, shooting my arm across like I'm attacking a cross face or rear naked from the side, then hopping over and going right into it.Clock choke in Nogi? Damn, that sounds badass. I'm gonna check that out.Basically a headlock, but you finish with the same ending technique as the gi (sliding your weight over your opponent, your head down low, walk your legs around). If you're talking about what I think, it's like an arm-triangle front-headlock, and you walk it around with the weight over your partner's shoulders.Damn, that sounds badass. I'm gonna check that out.
Yeah make videos, I always love idea exchanges... I've done a few I've posted in here, I'll do one of mine tooIf you're talking about what I think, it's like an arm-triangle front-headlock, and you walk it around with the weight over your partner's shoulders.
That technique compliments nicely with a West Point Ride. It's really easy to switch sides back and forth behind their hips and either get the choke on one side or the WP Ride on the other.
I put my left hand on their left deltoid and shoot my right arm across the neck. If it goes through, I grab my left bicep with my right hand and start walking my hips toward their head, trying to touch my left elbow to the right side of my pelvis as my hips come to their head.
If my right hand goes in across the waist, I grab my left forearm with my right hand, and float my hips to the other side. Then walk my hips toward their head while I try to touch the tip of their left elbow to the right side of their pelvis.
And if they're super tight on the neck and the waist, you can shoot your hand back between their knees and start attacking toe-holds. When they sit back to put their hips over the ankles, the neck and/or the waist opens up. Or they try and kick away from the foot attacks and are easy to tip over.
That's a lot of words. If it doesn't make sense, maybe I'll make my first instructional video.![]()
