No. But if it had have been stopped I wouldn't have been upset. Brock never seemed truly rocked, just his normal terrible response to getting hit. A ton of the shots were only hitting his arms. I've seen fights stopped for less but I think that was a perfect example of a ref paying attention to whether or not the fighter seems like they're still in the fight and trying to figure out how to get the buzzsaw off of them or if they're fucked and covering up to say a last prayer.

If it were any other HW, it would have been stopped.
Wasn't Rothwell vs Velasquez an early stoppage? Punches landing but no heat on them iirc. I used to agree with your opinion 110% but the more fights I see I really don't know how these guys decide when to stop fights. If it's not defending intelligently then Carwin may have a case as turtling for half a round is not good enough IMO.

I put in different. I wouldve stopped it. By the rules, he was turtled up. not intelligently defending himself. But he's so thick that I guess not much goy through

They had some heat on them but Rothwell was standing up/had just stood up when the stoppage occurred. I think. Eating clean shots though. There was no defense from what I remember.

Meh, I would have stopped it but Brock was able to come back and win, so by definition, the ref made the right call.

He was moving and trying to improve position, I haven't watched it since I was there. But I remember clearly seeing Rothwell standing up as it was stopped.. Brock lliterally turtled up and was eating shots from Carwin, with zero defense. Apples and Oranges IMO.

He sure wasn't "intelligently defending himself" but in hindsight the fact that Brock won the fight suggets no, it shouldn't have been.

Im gonna have to give it a watch tomorrow but from what I recall, it should have been stopped. Or maybe its just my willingness to be anything anti Brock.

Rothwell / Velasquez definitely was an early stoppage. Rothwell was never hurt, and standing up is an intelligent defense.

Lesnar / Carwin could've gone either way and, in hindsight, was the correct call.
