Guys are talking about jumping weight classes more than ever because of Conor. Luke Rockhold wants Werdum, why not have an outlet for fights like this? I wonder.

We always talk about P4P, and we've seen what a joke that is when women are ranked (sexism aside, men will always round up the top 10 of real P4P due to natural strength).

But should there be an overall 'baddest man On the planet' ranking system? An Alpha Male pecking order?

With McGregor jumping weight classes, Johny Hendricks finally moving up, Rockhold wanting to fight Fabricio Werdum and so on, should we have an "Openweight" ranking system to justify the super fights of the future?

I don't think they can get sanctioned in the US unless people gain weight or lose weight when they do these super fights

I could be msitaken tho..

See, I am not worried about sanctioning fights.

I just want the rankings made so fighters get inspired to challenge others.

From there, states can decide to sanction not, when someone wants to challenge someone in another weightclass.

minimum weight for Heavyweight is 175.

You want to be the baddest man on the planet, go take that HW belt.

I just think it would be fun if there was a natural alpha element to our sport. I think a true storybook scenario (like Jon Jones winning the HW belt) would be exciting.

yes, the heart-warming tale of the drug-addled superstar who rises to the pinnacle of combat after being the first person to be stripped of the title for disciplinary reasons (running a red light while high and causing a 3 car accident that injured a pregnant woman whose injuries he ignored in an attempt to flee the scene on foot with his drug paraphernalia) after serving his mandatory sentence for cheating with PEDs. It's straight out of a Dickens novel, the way tearfully swore that he never knowingly took PEDs and it must be a mistake, right before the 2nd sample came back positive...

storybook.
