Also, I think an immediate rematch is more warranted after a close, controversial fight like that, more so than when a guy gets flat line KO'd in the first round!

I'm a big fan of Stipe, I was rooting for him to beat DC, but eh what can you do? How do you sell a fight that just ended in devastating 1st round KO? Stipe needs to understand business is business, nothing personal.
If Fabricio didn’t get one then Stipe can join him on that boat.
Plus he would have loved that Brock payday as well (if he won)
A fine point as well. I believe even Cain didn't get one when JDS 1st round KO'd him... he had to go through Big Foot again.
Easy work for Cain but still... even he had to get back in the saddle before a title rematch.
Couple all this with the fact that they have a BIG MONEY alternative with Brock/DC...

Heres a thought, no one gets an immediate rematch. A case can be made and against someone if they get it, its completely situational. Now it leads to this mess where it doesn’t make sense anymore.
If you are going to do the immediate rematch route, just do what Bellator did and have the first fight be non title. Sound stupid? Because it was.
Only one that made sense at the time was Shogun vs Machida, then just all down hill from there.

Only immediate rematches if it’s a controversial stoppage, controversial decision, or if it’s a fighter i like. Everyone else should work their way back through the ranks.
