The UFC has shown a dedication to providing opportunities for its fighters to develop themselves in aspects outside of the cage. Forrest Griffin currently works for the UFC. Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes have held positions in the corporate structure in the past.

On the television side, the UFC has had Tyron Woodley, Michael Bisping, Daniel Cormier, Brian Stann, Rashad Evans, Yves Edwards, Dominick Cruz, Paul Felder, Chris Weidman and Kenny Florian, to name a few. All of these men are proven world-class fighters, faces of MMA and tenured, knowledgeable participants in the sport. However, they all have one other thing in common: they’re all men.

They need to get Waterson involved in these broadcasts as much as possible. Find a role for her. She could be a huge asset for their broadcasts.

I only saw her one time and I thought she was a little awkward. Most people are their first time up though. Not to discourage them from giving jobs to people who are trying to build their post-fight career prospects, but some of the men they've tried out at the desk were ok but not really necessary.

I know Leslie Smith has been calling Tachi Palace but I haven't been listening - does anyone know how she's been?

Can't argue with people like Hardy, Felder, and Cruz getting placements over women or other men for that matter, so in some cases, it just is what it is. All things being equal, I would rather have the best color and breakdowns than worry about equal opportunity. If a woman can provide it, they should get the job, that simple. And they should get the same number of chances to be awkward at first.

I did a being-a-person-who-hires-people refresher training at work, and the way equal opportunity and affirmative action are implemented was broken down really nicely. There is a massive list now of protected classes where I am, because beyond federal, NY State and NYC each have their own that apply. If I understood correctly, we are not allowed to take those factors into consideration at all when deciding whether to hire someone - it's just about who has the best qualifications. But, we are supposed to advertise to everyone and encourage them to apply, so it is more likely you will hire someone from a protected class because there will be more people in those classes in the applicant pool.

I like Waterson but she was terrible the night they put her on Fox. She stumbled over her words, was scared of the camera and her fight breakdowns were not coherent. I'm not saying she couldn't get better but she needs to get some training or work on smaller shows before going back.

Just look at espn to see how adding women to commentary teams/talk shows is working out. Its bad to hear them try and talk football. It would be unbearable to hear them commentate a combat sport.

I don't know if she has any interest in it but with Sanko already having on screen experience I'd like to see her give it a go.

Waterson should probably be given a chance to do what Sanko and Olivi currently do.

Leslie Smith is pretty good from what I remember hearing and is generally well spoken.

She would be bad at it but I would pay to listen to Karolina call the action in English.

As soon as PVZ loses again she'll probably be given some sort of on air job.

I think Holly could be good but boring similar to Stann.

I'm having a hard time thinking of women that I've heard that have stood out to me and it's a really short list.

Not exactly apples to apples there.

There are women who have a lot of knowledge already like Loretta Hunt, Crooklyn and our own nuraknu @nuraknu and our long lost meli5150.

No need to just restrict it to fighters. Kathy Long was the best commentator at UFC 1.

I’ve never noticed she has a voice. She wouldnt even have to have a speaking role for me to tune in.

Having Tate on the broadcast team should be mandatory. She is gorgeous and well spoken.

Translation: she has a great rack.

No they don`t.A women`s perspective on a female fight does absolutely nothing for me.I personally couldn`t care less.Even male broadcasters don`t have that much of an impact on me.A good fight is what is important to me,regardless of who is broadcasting it.

* Sure some broadcasters might enhance the experience over some unknowns, but it`s not important to me personally.

I didn't think she was too great that one time they let her try it out.

Oh, I didn't know that. That sucks because she seems like a homerun for the FS1 desk or event reporting.
