I'm a firm believer that never washing your truck protects the paint.

I had a 97 TJ that I never washed. One slow shift I finally washed it.
Everyone said they thought my jeep was green, it was actually black and looked phenomenal that day, lol. Brand new under all that shit.

Yep, a protective film?
I'm letting a Long Bed Tundra get filthy right now, and it is "super white" so now looking light brown.
Feels like harmless dirt so I'm not worried, not that I care.

I had a car that I hated (lesburu WRX) and never truly washed it. I'd take it to the do-it-yourself car wash and just blast it with the pressure washer from time to time, but never actually washed it until I went to sell it. It absolutely looked like a new car once I detailed it for sale. No swirls in the paint or anything.

Yeah man, that jeep was a legit 2.5 years getting no attention besides rain and blasting the mud off if it didn't fall off in a couple days on its own.
Looked factory when I actually cleaned it up.

People don't understand what happens when you don't properly wash your car. Few auto detailers even know how to properly wash and dry a car. Washing and drying is where most of the superficial paint damage happens. People don't think it be like it is but it do.
