really just a rumor

Sadly it is very believable....Jon got away with so much...has learned nothing from his lessons

A bit of time for the hit and run and return and hide would likely have given him a wakeup call...or for getting uppidity with the cop
But he only has really gotten time off from USADA...and with millions in the bank the time off is probably fun as hell for him

If it is for PEDs he could get a real long suspension.

2nd offense gets you double the first offense

also interesting was that I found this in the USADA details
  • A "whistleblower" line will be made available to fighters.
I find it hilarious because Jon spoke these words before he fought Rua

Yeah Jones has come a long way from the good guy he was as a kid and early in his UFC career ... I guess when he got matched up with Cormier, he decided he would become the bad guy, both in and out of the cage.

When has Ariel been wrong recently? I've always seen him as the standard for checking sources.

Jones has been tested 1 time this year according to the USADA website. I'm hearing that test was mid-February. Timing wouldn't be too crazy if that ends up being a dirty test. They're usually delayed by a month or so right?

I personally doubt there's truth to it based mostly on Ariel's tweet, but if it's true I think I finally will have given up on the guy. We will see.

Pretty shitty of Duffee to do this though, no matter if it's true or not. Not his business to put stuff like that on Twitter when it's not 100% verified.

He isn't reporting anything...so I am not saying he is wrong

If Todd has different sources than Helwani then Helwani is just not getting the info that Todd has.

Can't check a source you do not have....ya know

But I think there is a decent chance that this is just a rumor....but sadly given Jons behavior it is really easy to believe, which is entirely his fault for lowering our expectations to such a low level

Ariel could get in some serious shit for speculating/defaming on JJ....Duffee is probably not profiting so he is in a different position(position of gossiper/fan)

Not sure though....I did include rumor on purpose

Maybe damage control has already swept it under the rug....may never now

But if true he is looking at 2 years 4 years or lifetime ban...:eek:...I want to see him fight Rumble....that fight would be must watch

Ariel doesn't even post denials without being relatively sure about it. He does the "no truth to this" thing a lot and I've never seen him be wrong. I definitely trust him over a guy who is willing to blast this on Twitter with no confirmation.

I do agree with you that it is believable though and if it turns out to be true he deserves to have the book thrown at him hard.

You said it yourself that it's different coming from a fellow fighter. It's 100% different. Even disproven rumors affect peoples' reputations forever. This is irresponsible of Duffee. I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate it if someone was posting unsubstantiated stuff about him, especially one of his colleagues. Dirtbag move in my opinion.

Ok I rarely follow Ariel...but UFC or Jones Camp or USADA would likely not comment at this time...If this is a recent thing then they are creating a narrative as we speak.

Jones was tested mid febuary FYI

I said the "mid February" thing earlier in the thread.

"No truth" is different than "no comment", especially by Ariel's standards. He's as trustworthy as it gets. We aren't talking about Jeremy Botter here.
