Recap for all you tranny-lovers:

FOTN: Lineker vs. Rivera.
Rumble has a nice suit.
Dana looks like that guy that talks too loud in a fast-food line.
Pearson: "This was my most mature performance". (Warchild Agrees)
AJ: "Manuwa was afraid during the stare-down". About the build up to the fight: "I was fine. It was you guys that weren't fine. A lot of you write a lot of bullshit. That's what you have to do to get paid, I'm fine with that."
Lineker on being smaller than Rivera: "I don't think size mattered that much."
PVZ: (softball question)-"It felt awesome to get the finish. She was a purple belt, I was hesitant. I should have had more confidence on the ground." Reporter says "Some people call you the next Ronda Rousey". NO ONE HAS EVER SAID THAT. "It's a compliment, not pressure added."
Dana asked about Paige's performance: "She has all the attributes of a little rock star" (Warchild pukes). "She has to put in the hard work, keep her head together. She's ranked number seven and she's dominating, it's hard to hold someone back like that."
Dana asked about boos in the DJ/Dodson fight: "Those are all drunk dummies out there. These guys have been here since 5:30 drinking." THE ARENA WAS EMPTY FOR THE FIRST TWO UNDERCARD FIGHTS. COMPLETELY EMPTY.
Paige, asked about being a title contender: "When the title shot is there for me, I'll be ready. I'm not going to rush anything, it's my career, I want to enjoy every second of it." (Warchild thinks this is a nice sentiment).
Arlovski: "He took me down a couple times, and I was very tired. I took some lessons, and next fight will be prepared."
Pearson asked about fighting Felder again: "It's a clash of styles. He has power, everything to take opponents out." Pearson thinks with a longer training camp he could have taken Felder out. "It was a compliment to Paul, he pressed to the end. I was impressed with the shots he took and kept coming back."
Rumble on Neil Melanson: "Neil brought back some things I did in the past that I got away from."
Dana, asked about champs (DJ and Ronda) cleaning out divisions: "It's tough to have someone go in for a 3rd fight. The right fight to make was Holly Holm. Miesha is tough, Miesha is durable, but we've seen how that fight ends." "Holly Holm is the most decorated striker in the sport. It's the fight to make."
Dana, asked about Mir/Arlovski, and the scorecards. Did Andrei stay in the title shot conversation? "The heavyweight division is tied up right now." Asked about Mir: "Mir lost tonight. We won't be talking about him as far as the title."
Dodson, looking like his mom dressed him for middle school Picture Day: "I can't sit there and badmouth him, because he's still the champion. I couldn't stop him, but I stopped his takedowns. I improved from the last time we fought. We both improved a lot." "Hindsight, I can come back, become stronger. I can break the 3-fight glass ceiling."
DJ, about having beaten Dodson twice: "That fight's behind me. Now I'm on to the next opponent." DJ is rambling a bit, but basically says he knew Dodson was gassing from the work in the clinch, and that he would pull away late.
Dana, getting a softball question from a fucking moron reporter about Conor being a "lone wolf" in the presser two days ago, and if he was telling Conor to calm down: "I told him his zipper was down. He was jumping up talking shit to everybody and his zipper was down." "It's Conor, that's who he is, it's not shocking."
DJ about the postfight talk with Dodson: "I congratulated him on being a father."
DJ about moving up to bantamweight: "I'm excited to get back in the gym, and get my gi back on. I'm learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I'm a white belt, and I love learning."
Dana asked about offering DJ at bantamweight: "There's always a contender, man. We're working on something right now."
Dana, asked about Lineker being close to a bantamweight title shot, due to injuries at the top: *Dana makes a WHAT face* "He looked good tonight."

I'm frustrated they didn't get Raquel Pennington out there, and didn't acknowledge her amazing performance. She's making huge strides as a fighter, and showed everything tonight: Effective striking, sub defense, grappling. Pffft.

Some thoughts:

1. Get rid of the men's flyweight division. It's boring. I watched about half of the first round and then just fast forwarded to see who won.

2. PVZ didn't impress me. She was aggressive but that's about all I can say in her defense. Chambers doesn't deserve to be in the UFC. The entire fight was an embarrassment to wmma.

3. Mir is fat.

4. Rumble looks like a HW and he should fight at HW. That division needs more talent. There was a thread on size versus technique and Rumble showed size does matter. The debate is over.

I'm really interested in how the UFC treats Paige's ranking. They have her 7th, but both of the fighters ranked ahead of her would wear her ass out. Randa would grapplefuck Paige, and Tecia... YIKES. Tecia isn't going to backpeddle in the standup, and lay there defensively on the mat. Everyone is talking about Paige constantly pushing the pace, but that's because she hasn't faced anyone that will push back.

I disagree with most of these (surprise ;) )

1) DJ fight was amazing. It was a near perfect performance. What were you looking for? What could DJ have done differently?

2) PVZ put on a great performance. Her striking is quite poor but she put in a high work rate, dominated and then finished the fight. For a top 10 fighter, yeah she's not amazing but she's only had a few fights. Again, not sure what else you were looking for.

3) Agreed

4) Rumble should fight in whatever weight class he feels best in. Also, a bigger fighter winning does not prove size is an advantage. He's got a HUGE wrestling advantage over Manuwa, which means he does not have to worry about takedowns, whereas Manuwa does.

No doubt.

I don't have a problem with building up a fighter but that fighter needs to be able to back it up and fit the part and Paige has a long way to go. She's super sloppy with her techniques, both on the ground and standing. When you compare her skill level to Joanna, Gadelha and Esparza it's not even in the same stratosphere. The UFC better keep feeding her unranked opponents until she improves.

1. I just don't find midget fighting entertaining. I tried to like it. I really did. I'm not saying MM isn't highly skilled. From all the boos in the arena I think a lot of people agree with my opinion.

2. I'm looking for PVZ to live up to the hype. When you have reporters suggesting she's the next Ronda I expect to be impressed. I've yet to be impressed.

3. Nice to agree on something. Mir is a fatty mcfats.

4. Rumble needs to move back up to HW. It's a thin division that could use a new face. The fact that he cuts so much weight to fight at LHW proves size matters.

1) That's on you. If you can't appreciate elite MMA, I don't know what to tell you. Certainly don't scrap the division though just cos some rednecks are booing.

2) She is not the next Ronda. She is not an Olympic medalist and anyone comparing them is nuts. But she brings a fight and looks to finish.

4) He doesn't NEED to do anything. You'd like to see him at heavyweight. So would I. But its up to him.

Of course size matters. Technique matters more.

I give all the men's flyweight fighters respect but ultimately it comes down to being entertaining.

That's OK, you're allowed to be offended
Maybe that didnt go over as planned. I meant the redneck part. I'm from Kentucky. People can boo DJ all they want. I think it's stupid as hell, but whatever.

redneck
or red-neck
[red-nek] Informal: Disparaging.

noun
1.
an uneducated white farm laborer, especially from the South.

They seemed pretty uneducated to me. Yeah they're allowed to express their opinion by booing. I'm allowed to express my opinion that they're uneducated and the division should not be scrapped because of them.

The crowd was pretty fucking quiet when they weren't booing. I think they had the silence part covered, too. I would imagine having a huge chunk of the crowd leave during the fight has that effect.

Thats pretty much why the UFC is hand feeding her opponents that wont give her a good fight. Paige is pretty much stuck, do you match her up with a top name and have them embarrass and bust her up? Nah the UFC isnt about to do that, we will see her against those that dont deserve to fight in the UFC but are there for steeping stone reasons

I think a match with Magana (dat ass!) or Bec Rawlings (dat trailer park!) is on Paige's horizon.
