Diaz gets his big payday & GSP gets a win
Makes sense from that perspective IF true

GSP will wrestle fuck Nate to death but my guess is Nate gives no fucks as long as he makes millions.

So basically GSP gets his Chael. I’d be surprised if they actually do this fight. Because im assuming it would be a 3 round co main to Cody vs TJ 2. Or do they create another title for GSP

Was thinking the same.

Reasonable comparison for sure. I'm also very skeptical on if this is even a serious consideration. I remember Rory sending Nate into orbit like 3 times when he was testing WW. GSP should be able to do the same regardless of weight class.

If true, it's a bait match for Nick.... Nate is my boy, but doesn't match up well with larger wrestlers, especially ones who have fought at 185 (Nate's a 155er, shouldn't be fighting in 170 since he walks around between 180-185). GSP beats Nate, it doesn't ruin Nate's trilogy with Conor, but may tempt Nick to come out to avenge his brother.

In a 5 rounder perhaps Nate could survive and land some late shots. But if it’s a 3 round fight, gsp doesn’t lose a second of the 15 minutes.

Didn’t Nate always say gap was nick’s fight again?

He will sub nate
Oooooooh, man I see a UD win, I can see a Ref Stoppage, even a TKO, a sub win? That's tough, GSP's BJJ has improved greatly working with the DDS, but Nate's a tough catch. He doesn't make too many grappling mistakes that leave him open to get subbed. And the longer GSP stays on the mat looking for that sub, the more it plays into Nate's favor to do the same.

Side bar, something no one has mentioned yet, Jake Shields has been training with the DDS for his forray in the Sub Grappling scene, he helped train Garry Tonon for his MMA debut and more importantly, helped train GSP... I wonder if this causes any issues. Another interesting note is that John Danaher said that GSP's BJJ game is a carbon copy of Jake Shields game (said that it's rare that you find someone with the exact same tendencies and reactions)... From what I was told of the Cesar Gracie squads grappling hierarchy, it is Nick.... Well I guess now Kron, Nick, Dave Terrell then Gil, and Nate and Jake were kinda tied... All that said, the BJJ games may be closer than we think.

Weird match up for both. Georges doesnt need the money and his legacy is already made.i dont see why nate would take a no win fight other than to get paid.gsp should fight woodley .nate should fight conor or ferg.

I can’t see this happening. If it does, I’ll take it as a sign that Nick Is retired. If it does happen, I can’t see it being anything other than a main or co-main event. They are 2 of the 4 top PPV draws, why would the UFC waste that promotional dream?

This only makes sense if the inaugural 165 championship belt is on the line. If so, it's the perfect way to set up GSP vs McGregor or McGregor vs Diaz 3, depending on the outcome. Khabib vs Conor is still an option as well because even if Conor loses, he can blame the weight cut or whatever and still have a big fight (and payday) waiting for him in a new division.

Nate vs GSP makes sense only as a road to retirement for both. Burn out the contract, make a pile of cash and set up Georges vs. Conor if they both win their next fights.

It's May & they want to have this in August? Probably won't be announced until June...No chance. Not enough time to market

I thought the diaz brothers didn't fight each others fights.... like nick fought gsp so nate wont' fight him. thought I read that somewhere.

if they're doing this they should reinstate Conor as the 145 and 155 champ so he can hold 3 belts simultaneously

Conor McGregor has already beaten the current champ at FW anyway and never lost his belt in the cage at LW
