MMAjunkie was on scene and reporting live from today’s early and official UFC Fight Night 138 fighter weigh-ins.

The early weigh-ins took place at the UFC host hotel in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. No ceremonial weigh-ins are scheduled for the event, which takes place Saturday. The UFC’s debut event in the city airs on FS1 following prelims on FS2 and UFC Fight Pass.

Among those weighing in were Volkan Oezdemir (15-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Anthony Smith (29-13 MMA, 6-3 UFC), who meet in the light heavyweight main event. Both men made the 206-pound limit.

The only fighter to miss weigh was co-headliner Michael Johnson(18-13 MMA, 10-9 UFC), who came in one pound heavy for his featherweight fight against Artem Lobov (13-14-1 MMA, 2-4 UFC).

Not sure why Johnson ever dropped a weight class. He was so quick at lightweight, but doesn't have that insane edge now.

Lol how is Lobov even still in the UFC? He is the real Conor McGregor Nut Hugger. If Conor wasn’t negotiating Artem being in the UFC as part of his contract than I guarantee he would be fighting in KFC or whatever that Polish organization is called.

Mark Hunt has a shitty record too but look at who he fought.

Pretty stand up thing for T-rex arms to do.
I like that... But problem is tax.
I don't know the figures, but let's say he would get $20k. 20% ($4k) now goes to artem. Except tax man is going to take $1-$2k. So if Artem hands over $4k he's going to be a grand or two out of pocket.

I have no idea how Russian tax laws work but if he pays tax in Canada he just has to fill out paperwork to get it back.
