UFC's LHW division is currently so thin that we have Shogun is currently the #6 contender. Rogerio, who has one win since early 2013, is still ranked in the top 15. To say they have depth issues is a severe understatement.

So, I took a look at the official UFC rankings and started inserting people I figured would make the current top 15 contenders who are outside the promotion.

EDIT: rankings are rough and approximate.

C Daniel Cormier
1) Alexander Gustafsson
- Ryan Bader
2) Volkan Oezdemir
- Phil Davis
3) Glover Teixeira
4) Jimi Manuwa
- King Mo
5) Ovince Saint Preux
- Rampage Jackson
6) Mauricio Rua
7) Misha Cirkunov
- Linton Vassel
8) Ilir Latifi
- Nikita Krylov
9) Corey Anderson
10) Patrick Cummins
- Rashid Yusupov (there is no reason for him to stay in M-1 this long with his resume)
- Viktor Nemkov (see above)
11) Rogerio Nogueira
12) Jan Blachowicz
13) Gadzhimurad Antigulov
- Liam McGeary
14) Tyson Pedro
- Tomasz Narkun (KSW Champion)
15) Jared Cannonier

Also I know he's not top-tier but dammit, I'd like Fabio Maldonado back too please.

I'm not saying the UFC could definitely have all of these guys, but they nearly could. Basically, what I'm saying is, while you can't really blame the UFC for Jon Jones being a fucking idiot, their depth problems are still their own fault here.

I would think staying in m1 for a long time could be for home reasons or would be slightly indicative of an ability to continue being free of usada?

I guess it's more that being a star at home pays better than being a nobody in the ufc. (although I don't know Yusupov and have no idea about his specific case);

Also Rampage at #5 is as bad or worse than Shogun at #6; The one guy at LHW that I miss seeing in better fights is Jiri Prochazka

Mo at 4ish is also terrible.

While the division in the UFC could definitely be deeper, all you did with this was prove that globally 205 is pretty terrible right now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 205 only a UFC weight class because of one man, Tito? Maybe they are laying off investing in it because of the weight class shifting plans?

Wouldn't mind seeing a lhw tuf season though, to see who comes out of the woodwork.
