Amazon has a good series on how this movie was made. One of the funnier things was how they chose dallas because Detroit was too much of a shit hole to film a movie about a shit hole dystopian future.

Part 2 is super corny and the acting is laughable but the action is top notch. They cleaned up the stop motion amazingly.

Paul verhoeven could have made a great dredd movie in the 90s iirc he discussed it with neumeier who wrote robocop.

Yes, but it was different people doing the various scenes, each in their own style.

I think one of the scenes was portrayed via interpretive dance, one with puppets, etc.

I expect that it's quite a weird watch seeing them all stitched together.
