Society Why do Regular Citizens Need Assault Weapons?

They're not used for hunting and can't be concealed, but people are allowed to buy them, even if they've never fired one before.

Here's what they have been primarily used for though:

• 2017 Las Vegas Mass Shooting: 58 killed
• 2017 Orlando Mass Shooting: 49 killed
• 2017 Sutherland Springs Mass Shooting: 26 killed
• 2012 Sandy Hook Mass Shooting: 26 killed
• 2018 Parkland Mass Shooting: 17 killed (so far, hopefully doesn't rise)

They're used as weapons of WAR, and the general public has absolutely no need for them.

Let's not even talk about all the LEGAL modifications we can do to make these weapons more automatic.

OP should define what he means by 'assault rifle'. 'Assault rifle' is a defined term.

I used to live in the USA. I don't really get the whole gun thing but they sure are fun to shoot. However, when I did entertain the idea of getting one for myself I was gonna get an ak47 or an AR. Purely for the fact I'm good at shooting rifles and shit at shooting pistols.

In the end I got some Hattori Hanzo swords and donated them to the Christian mission when I left.

I just shot a scar-L and sig sauer p226 in nevada . the scar was way more accurate if my life depended on a gun I rather have a Scar-L. making the Scar illegal will not help me as a law abiding person and it actually sucks that I can't own one in California.

You cannot suggest, even indirectly, that the massacres listed in the OP would have happened anyway, even if the assailants hadn't had assault weapons.

Why is it "fucking stupid"? People have been killing each other in a variety of ways for thousands of years. The largest school massacre was with a bomb. The largest mass killing in America was with passenger jets. If a determined mentally unstable person wants to kill, it will happen.
