Shield maiden was a made up thing too. Im not suggesting the show is extremely accurate. But the events that take place in the show and the people on whom they're based existed.

GOT did the same thing but turned the dial up to 11. Which gives them infinitely more wiggle room.

right Bjorn's sons went on to be Kings with a long lineage in Europe

Rollo or Gaange Rolf was a Viking who became the first ruler of Normandy, a region of France. He is sometimes called the 1st Duke of Normandy.

Yeah I just got back from Mexico City on a 30 day study trip. The Aztecs were
less interesting to me only because the Inca just basically didn't fight when the Spanish
came. They essentially stood down and let them take shit.

Something to do with their Cosmology and them thinking their time was over
and the Spanish were sent to kill them all so they welcomed it.

Yeah, can't argue taste/preference.

That said, she is a fighter, so it really doesn't matter how she looks. She still looks feminent, and not manly/roid traps, etc.
