For those who don't follow boxing, Joshua is an English HW with a 20-0 record. He beat Wladimir Klitschko. He has a fight coming up at the end of the month against 24-0 Joseph Parker from New Zealand. Joshua is favored. Then there's talk of a unification fight with American champ Deontay Wilder.
But there's always speculation about crossing over into MMA these days. Here's what Joshua had to say about that:
“I feel like a good scrap would be, I think the guy from Congo [referring to Ngannou, who is actually from Cameroon], I think he just lost recently. Big unit, that’d be a good scrap. Then you’ve got Jon Jones, that’d be a good scrap.
”Yeah. I’d have to obviously have a couple of warm-up fights because you have to learn the submissions and stuff. But a fight’s a fight at the end of the day. Yeah man, I’d do it.” (Transcription by Sport Bible)
Anthony Joshua eyes fights with Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones in potential MMA move
Where is the money going to come from for boxers who make $10 million or more per fight to move into MMA? They're going to have to expect a decrease in pay.
